Keith Bowman got his start teaching at Dave Simon’s Rock School in 2015 while attending Webster University. In 2017 he earned a Bachelor of Music degree specializing in Jazz drum set and audio engineering.  After college, Keith started working full time as a freelance drummer for dozens of St. Louis area bands, rappers, churches, orchestras, musicals, etc.  After Barack Obama featured one of his band’s songs on his top songs of the year playlist, Keith’s band “Tonina” grew in popularity and eventually signed to a major record label from San Francisco called “Empire”.  From there, Keith went on a world tour drumming at festivals in England, Argentina, Italy, Spain, and all over the US.  Then in 2020 Keith enlisted in the Army as a musician where after Basic training he attended the Army School of Music at Virginia Beach and now serves in the 135th Army Band, a National Guard unit out of Springfield MO.  With the Army Band Keith has performed as a percussionist with the St. Louis Symphony along with other performances such as playing snare drum for the National Anthem at professional sporting events. Keith now teaches at STL Rock School, continues to freelance, and puts his creative energy into writing personalized exercises for students and drumming for his band “Drangus”.
